Franklin Hop 2025: A Day of Cars, Community, and Care

Thursday, 10 April 2025

The Franklin Hop, Classic Car & Hotrod Show, started back in 2014 with a simple yet meaningful goal: to raise funds for the local Waiau Pa & Clarks Beach community. Over the years, it has become a favorite local event, bringing together car lovers and community members to raise money for youth programs and other local causes. The funds collected from the event help support various non-profit groups that focus on kids, assisting with everything from building maintenance to equipment and special needs for local organizations.

What makes the Franklin Hop truly special is its focus on giving back to the community. Funds raised go directly to supporting local children’s programs, helping with everything from maintaining facilities to providing equipment for youth activities. The show might be small, but its impact on the community is anything but.

This year, Meguiar's was proud to sponsor the event and contribute prize packs for the winners. As a company dedicated to quality car care, Meguiar's was excited to support the show and its mission to support local youth. Their sponsorship added a little extra fun to the day and helped recognize the great cars and owners who make the Franklin Hop such a special event.

While the Franklin Hop is laid-back, there’s no shortage of pride when it comes to the vehicles on display. This year’s winners, each with their own unique style and charm, were celebrated for their standout qualities:

·         Best in Show Street Machine: 1964 Chevrolet Impala - Car 100

·         Best in Show Classic: 1955 Desoto Fireflite Convertible - Car 49

·         Overall Best in Show: 1957 Chevrolet Belair - Car 105

These cars not only impressed the judges but also brought a sense of nostalgia and passion for automotive history to the event. It’s all about enjoying the beauty of classic cars in a relaxed, friendly environment.
